Growth

Objectives

  • Facilitate safe and secure access to the Southside of the Airport.

  • Enhancement of the appearance and function of the facility in order to assist current and future tenants in developing their operations.

  • Support workforce development in aviation-related fields.

Performance Measures & Standards

  • Advance at least one capital project within the airport to construction by December 2025.
  • Engage with at least one prospective tenant by December 2025.
  • Facilitate at least one networking or professional growth event per quarter.

2025 Achievements

  • Carroll Shelby Road final design and permitting completed in 2025, ready for construction
  • Webster Turn Drive reconstruction is underway.
  • Draft lease and project development contract drafted for prospective tenant
  • Women in Aviation event educating young women on career opportunities in aviation was held in March 2025.
  • EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) monthly breakfast held throughout 2025 was supported by the Airport Authority

Background

Beginning October 1, 2024, or by the end of the first full fiscal year after its creation, whichever is later, each special district must establish goals and objectives for each program and activity undertaken by the district, as well as performance measures and standards to determine if the district’s goals and objectives are being achieved. By December 1 of each year after that, each special district must publish an annual report on the district’s website. This report must describe the goals and objectives achieved by the district, the performance measures and standards used to make this determination and any goals or objectives the district failed to achieve, section 189.0694, F.S.
